What is imperialism?
Imperialism, as defined by the People of Human Geography, is "the creation and maintenance of a country's power and influence through military force. Lewis Samuel Feuer identifies two major subtypes of imperialism;
The first is the "regressive imperialism", extermination or reductions of undesired peoples, and settlement of desired peoples into those territories.
The second type is "progressive imperialism", that promotes the move of civilization to "backward" societies.
